Large-scale navigational Gv (visual-spatial) abilities

I just skimmed another article that suggests that the CHC cognitive ability taxonomy may need to be broadened to include a broader array of Gv (visual-spatial) abilities, namely, Gv abilities that help with large-field spatial navigation. I've previously FYI'd folks about recent research indicating that large scale navigational Gv abilities are separate from small-scale traditional psychometric Gv tasks (those found in typical intelligence batteries).

The most recent article (Eliot, 2007 - The Development of an Everyday Spatial Behavioral Questionnaire) I skimmed suggested two apparent continua of large-scale spatial abilities--movement through space and drawing/perceiving perspective/path finding (also possibly called dimensional discernment).
